George A. Jachyra, age 88 of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Virginia Reck Bartosik Jachyra, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. George was born in Derby, son of the late George and Elizabeth Garrity Jachyra and was a lifelong area resident. He retired from United Technology, working in the Aerospace Engineering Department. George was a life member of Fayerweather Yacht Club. Survivors include his loving daughters Carolyn Henry and fiancé Randall Iris of Plainville, and Cynthia Saks and husband Kenneth of Ventura, CA, four grandchildren Erika Saks, Andrew Saks, Jacob Henry, and Gary Iris, and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial.
