George H. Swift, age 78 of Trumbull passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Theodora "Teddy" Bodetka Swift. Born in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late George and Margaret Keenan Swift. George spent his entire career in Public Works, beginning as a laborer in Westport and working up to Supervisor of the Highway Division. After retiring from Westport, he continued in the public works sector serving as Superintendent of the Highway Department for the Town of Darien. George thrived on working the blizzards, hurricanes, and winter and tropical storms. After retiring, George spent much of his free time on the golf course with his favorite foursome as well as his daily rides to the beach. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Lee Bright and his grandson Trevor, the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Swift and several nephews and nieces as well as many dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Kevin.
