Grace Macchio Casano, age 94 of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 17. She was born in New York City on May 4, 1927, and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. She was married to Biagio (Bill) Casano for 43 years who predeceased her in 1992. She worked as a cosmetician for Super X Drug Stores for over 25 years and was an active member of St. Andrew Parish and served on several of its committees. She enjoyed playing cards, travelling and doting on her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and she took pleasure in helping friends and family. Grace is survived by her daughter Linda and son-in-law Robert Burdo with whom she resided, her son William Casano and his partner Tara Cestero of Alexandria, Virginia, her grandchildren Lauren and husband Rafael Ocasio, Stephen Burdo, Michael and Elizabeth Casano and their mother Patricia Casano, great grandchildren, Sara and Rafael Jr., brother Joseph Macchio, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Aniello and Maria Macchio, a sister Frances Unnic, and her brothers Vito and Onofrio Macchio. Friends and family are invited to meet directly at St. Andrew Church, 395 Anton St. Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 26, at 11:00a.m. at which masks are required. The family will be receiving those who attend,   from 10:30a.m., until Mass time. Inurnment will follow at Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
