Grace Altieri Packer, age 81, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in Trumbull. She was predeceased by her husband James Packer, brother-in-law John Packer and her niece Andrea Grace Soter-Simonsen. Grace leaves behind her loving family; son, James and wife Kathleen and grandson John of Trumbull, son, John and wife Lisa and grandchildren Kelly, Bridget, and Hugh of Cincinnati, OH, sister, Dolores Soter and family of Ventura, CA, sisters-in-law Mary DeVivo and family and Sr. Irene Packer, A graduate of Central Connecticut State College, Grace received her Master's degree in Education and 6th year degree from Fairfield University. She was a member of the American Association of University Women. Grace spent her career teaching elementary school children at Fairfield Country Day School, and Hawley School in Newtown, where she made lifelong friends with fellow staff, students, and parents. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, at 10:00am, meeting directly in St Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Andrea Grace Soter-Simonsen Memorial Foundation, Attn.
