Helen Elizabeth Shadle died on September 27, 2011, at Bridgeport Hospital, at age 98. She is now at peace with her Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Laurence Shadle, her sister Thelma Dorn Murphy, and her brother John Dorn. She is survived by her sister Marian Konecny of Toledo, Ohio, her son Jack Shadle (Margo) of Louisville, Kentucky, and her daughter Sandra Marsilius (Newman) of Newtown, Connecticut.  Her grandchildren are Kim Duggins (Greg) of Louisville, KY, Scott Shadle(Edie) and Todd Shadle(Maria) both of Dallas, TX,  Newman Marsilius IV(Jennifer) of Trumbull, CT, and Christian Marsilius(Jennifer) of Fairfield, CT. Additionally she had 10 great grand children. She loved to be with her family members especially at holiday times when she would cook a variety of favorite dishes, especially desserts. Her favorite activity was playing bridge with her friends and neighbors in Oronoque. Helen was a strong and independent woman as evidenced by her living independently in her condominium, and up until her last years continuing to visit and vacation with relatives in California, Toledo, and Florida. Her memorial service will be in Toledo, Ohio, her birthplace, with internment at the Whitehouse Cemetery next to her husband Laurence. In attendance will be her immediate family members.
