Helen D. Hoydic Shevlin, age 80 of Bridgeport died Thursday, May 10, 2007 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Captain Patrick J. Shevlin Jr., Bridgeport Fire Department. Born in Bridgeport she was a graduate of Harding High School and a lifelong city resident. Survivors include her loving children, Deputy Chief Patrick J. Shevlin III B.F.D. and his wife Debra of Ocala, FL, Lieutenant Michael S. Shevlin B.F.D. and his wife Debra of Shelton, Jody A. Shevlin of East Haven, Timothy E. Shevlin and his wife Patricia of Florida, Lieutenant Kevin Shevlin B.F.D. and his wife Robin of Oxford, 12 grandchildren, one great grandson, her brother and three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:15am from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 10:00am in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Sunday 3-7pm.
