Henry J. Lavin, age 79, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Sophie Petro Lavin, died Thursday, December 10, 2009, at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Henry was born in Bridgeport, son of the late John F. Lavin Sr. and Mary Slattery Lavin. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors include two loving daughters, Diana Weiske and husband Gregor of Boston and Beverly Lavin of Shelton, a brother, Bernard Lavin of Pompano Beach, FL, a grandson, Nicholas Weiske and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 10:00am, in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, with full military honors. Friends may call Sunday from 4pm to 7pm in the funeral home.
