Hon. Fred (Ted) Hampton Lovegrove Jr., age 73, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Shari Keeley Lovegrove and loving and devoted father to Abigail E. Lovegrove and step father to Michael Ferguson. Ted was born in New York City, son of the late Fred Hampton Lovegrove Sr. and Edith Allen. He was a Chestnut Hill Academy Graduate in 1958 and also attended Villanova.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army and had a distinguished career as a State Senator. His many accomplishments during his 16 year tenure included serving as Deputy Minority Leader and the initiation and passing of the Puppy Bill.  Ted had a passion for chickens and enjoyed nothing more than to drive to Agway on a Sunday morning with his daughter. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by two sisters, Marcia L. Moseley of Litchfield and Abigail L. Scowcroft of Beverly Hills, FL, several nieces and nephews and his Family Red Sox Fan Club. Interment will be private. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
