Howard S. Rowan Jr. age 83 of Shelton passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 in his home. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Healy Rowan. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a resident of Trumbull for 48 years until moving to Shelton. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep, Class of 1950 and attended Fairfield University. Mr. Rowan was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was President of Rural Gas and a member of the Propane Gas Association of New England. He enjoyed spending time at Fairfield Beach but most of all he loved his grandchildren and especially watching them play sports. In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by his loving son Richard J. Rowan and his wife Ann of Monroe, daughter in law Nancy Rowan of Monroe, brother, Michael Rowan of Trumbull, grandchildren, Richard Jr. Suzannah and Lucas and nephews Michael and Mark. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard Sr. and Grace, son, Howard III and daughter, Pamela Lee. His family wishes to thank the 9th Floor Pulmonary Care at St. Vincent's Medical Center, The Connecticut Hospice, and his aides, Marie, Tanisha, Monise, Markise, Gizelle, and Jessica for the wonderful, compassionate care he received. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15am from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00am in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call Thursday 4-8pm.
