Ida Gecox of Bridgeport passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 in her home. Born in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Mary Sanford Gecox. Ida lived in Riverdale, NY, Fairfax, VA, and Bridgeport, CT throughout her life and had a home in Black Rock, Ireland where she spent her summers. She was the administrative assistant to the President of Monsanto Chemical Company.  In addition to spending time with her family, she traveled extensively and had visited four continents. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Mary Stack, and brother Harry Gecox. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Maureen Stack Diffley of Fairfield, William Stack of New Canaan, Patricia Stack of Oakton, VA, Gerald Gecox and the late Nancy, Sandra and Elaine Gecox; grandnieces and grandnephews, Megan Diffley Reddy, Kara Diffley, Liam Stack, Caitlin Stack, Will Evans, Brendan Evans and Nora Evans; cherished great-grandnieces Katie, Molly and Bridget Reddy and her cousin Archbishop Thomas A. White, who served as the Nuncio Apostolic to New Zealand. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Pius X Church, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Friends may call Monday from 2-5pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
