Irene Daniels age 86 of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 18, 2014 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Irene was born in Nanticoke, PA, daughter of the late Louis and Helen Sakowitz Danielowicz. She retired from Remington Rand, where she worked as a secretary, and before that worked at Singer's and Columbia Records. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her brother Edward Daniels and is survived by her niece Lisa Brunner and husband Lane and their children Paige and David of Glastonbury, her nephew Jim Daniels and wife Lori and their children Stephanie and Christi of Thomaston, her sister-in-law Janet Daniels of East Hartford, cousins; Helen and Herb Gratrix of Trumbull and their children Elaine Gratrix and husband Andrew Lopson of Milford and Karen Gratrix of Milford, Harold and Janet Labonda of Shelton, and Loraine and Ward Colbree of Bridgeport and additional cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:15a.m., from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 10:00a.m., in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8p.m., in the funeral home.
