Isabel S. Everett, age 89, of Shelton, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 18, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. Isabel was born in Scotland, daughter of the late Alexander and Isabella Bunten Shaw, and was a resident of Easton prior to moving to Shelton.
Isabel grew up in Kearny, NJ, graduating from Kearny High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from New Jersey State Teacher's College, and was an educator her entire career in New Jersey as well as New York. Taking a break from her career to raise her children, Isabel returned to teaching when she relocated to CT. She earned her Master's Degree in Education from Sacred Heart University and ultimately retired from her career after spending over twenty-five years at St. Andrew's School, Bridgeport. Isabel was a HUGE sports fan, often cheering for the New York Giants during football season. As an avid Yankees' fan, she often attended games with her father since the 1940's. She enjoyed watching and cheering for the UConn Lady Huskies.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children; son Wayne W. Everett, and daughter Janna Marazita and husband Daniel, four cherished grandchildren; Shea, Daniel Jr., Casey, and Sean Marazita. Her son, Scott A. Everett, predeceased her. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly at Jesse Lee United Methodist Church, 25 Flat Rock Road, Easton, with the Rev. Christine Lindeberg, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
