Janet E. Byrne, daughter of the late James W. and Beatrice C. Byrne, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. She was born in Bridgeport and was a life-long resident. A graduate of Lauralton Hall and the College of New Rochelle, Janet worked as an administrative assistant to executives at Warnaco and later at People's Bank. Following her retirement, she was an active volunteer for many years at the Barnum Museum and at St. Joseph's Manor in Trumbull, where she also served on the fundraising board holding many offices including President. Janet was predeceased by two brothers, James J. Byrne and William Jean Byrne. Survivors include her niece Jeanne Bruestle and husband David of Danbury, and two nephews James Byrne of Salt Springs, FL, and Matthew Byrne of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and several grand nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 1pm, meeting directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
