Janis Mary Dunigan Coutu passed peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, August 22, 2014. Born June 18, 1952 in Bridgeport she was the daughter of Edith and the late John Dunigan. Janis graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor's degree in Science and the University of Southern Connecticut with a Master's degree in Chemistry. She and her family lived for a number of years in Irvine, CA. Throughout her life, Janis possessed a wonderfully positive outlook that infected all who knew her. Janis is predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Dr. Gerard Coutu PHD, a native of Colchester, CT. In addition to her mother of Trumbull, she is survived by her son, Paul Coutu of Oakland, CA; sisters, Ellen Brigham and husband Richard of Plano, TX and Ginny Dunigan of Trumbull; brothers, Michael Dunigan and his wife Susan and Patrick Dunigan and his wife Kim, all of Shelton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.
