Joan Balamaci, age 89, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Vasel "Bill" Balamaci, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023. Born Saturday April 7, 1934 in Cedar Grove, NJ to John Rideg and Jane Timko. A loving wife to her husband of 43 years, Vasel "Bill" Balamaci. Joan grew up in Connecticut, graduating from Bassick HS she worked at Dictaphone where she met her husband. They married in 1957. Joan was a Fairfield resident for 55 years and worked as a Paraprofessional for the Fairfield School System, the majority of her career at Stratfield School. She loved animals, especially her pet cats, dogs, and birds. She enjoyed gardening and spending summers at the beach. Survivors include her son, Glen Balamaci (Rose), cousin, John Fodor, sister-in-law, Virginia Dumitre and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister Sally and parents. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.
