Joan Luddy Mossey, age 81, of Trumbull, died Friday, March 20, 2009, at her home. She was the beloved wife and mother of the late Jordan J. Mossey and Emily Jane Mossey. Joan was born in Fairfield, daughter of the late William and Julia Gallagher Luddy. She received a B.S. from the University of Connecticut, Storrs and retired from the commercial lending department of City Trust Bank. Joan and her family resided for many years in Radnor, PA, were she was politically active and had been elected as councilwoman. She enjoyed a love for art history and was a docent with the Philadelphia Museum of Art. An avid world traveler, she lived over seas for two years with her husband and family and was a Partner in Friendship Force. Survivors include two devoted sons, Jonathan J. Mossey of Bowling Green, OH and Christopher J. Mossey and his wife Linda of Norfolk, VA, two wonderful grandchildren, Rachael Emily Mossey and Steven Keller Mossey, her brother William Luddy of Cape Cod, MA and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Fairfield, at a date to be announced. Private inurnment in St. Thomas Mausoleum.
