Joanna (Jennie) Ciaramella, age 98, a resident of St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull, passed away on Tuesday, April, 22, 2008 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary, in September of 2007. Joanna was born in Italy, daughter of the late Michael and Tomisina Ciaramella and had lived most of her life in Bridgeport. She was retired from Schick, Inc., Milford. Joanna was a devoted communicant of St. Andrew Parish and had made many dear friends over the years as a member of St. Andrew Friendship Club and the Senior Center at the Park Avenue Knights of Columbus Hall. Survivors include her devoted and much loved nephew, Michael L. Ciaramella Sr. and wife Diane of Huntington; two great nieces and a great nephew, Michele Guido and husband Ray, Michael L. Ciaramella Jr., and Suzanne Silvestro and husband Michael, all of Huntington; five great great nephews, Raymond G. Guido, III, Daniel Guido, Nicholas Guido, Louis Silvestro, and Joseph Silvestro; a cousin, Mary Gentile of Fairfield. She was predeceased by a brother, Louis Ciaramella. Joanna possessed a wonderful outlook on life and death. She was a loving, giving and fun-filled person who loved the Lord and her family above all. Both she and Mary had a profound effect on all who knew them. She would want to thank, as we do, all her caregivers at St. Joseph's Manor for all the love, kindness and care she and her beloved sister received there. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday at 9:00 a.m. meeting directly in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. Those who so desire, please make contributions in her memory to St. Andrew Church Renovation Fund.
