John E. Allen, age 73 of Shelton died Friday, June 19, 2009 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport he was the son of the late Edward and Julia Lang Allen. Mr. Allen was a retired carpenter and served in the National Guard for three years. He had a special passion for dogs. Survivors include his daughter, Susan Ortega and her husband James of Sacramento, granddaughter Christina Ortega and cousin Lawrence Bues. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9:00am – 10:30am in the Redgate Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull with a prayer service beginning at 10:30am. Entombment will follow at the St. Monica Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
