John A Penzotti Jr., age 48 passed away suddenly at his home in Buffalo, NY on Monday May 7, 2012. A Buffalo native, John was a creative and talented writer. His contribution to the arts was well known here and across the pond. His play "Five Blue Haired Ladies Sitting on a Green Park Bench" debuted off Broadway in NYC in the late 1990's. It began its first UK tour in 2001 in Lincoln, England. It continues to provide tears and laughter to all who see it. John studied graphic arts at Buffalo State University. Before John began to pursue his writing career full-time he was a stylist/writer for Soap Opera Update Magazine in New York City. He was predeceased by his mother Gloria Scialfo Penzotti, and step-mother Kathryn Capozzi Penzotti. He was survived by his father John A Penzotti, Sr. of Trumbull, (for two more days). Survivors include his three sisters who love him dearly, Carla Wenrich and husband Craig of New Rochelle, NY, Gina Penzotti of Sarasota, FL and Paula Penzotti-Rubano and husband Matthew of Trumbull, also two step-brothers David Capozzi and wife Carissa of Groton, Daniel Capozzi and wife Rose of Burlington, and step-sister Erin Macaluso and husband Matthew of Tolland. Friends may call Saturday, (TODAY), from 1 to 5 p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. Friends may also call on Tuesday May 15, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Dietrich Funeral Home, 2480 Kensington Avenue, Amherst, NY. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Harlem Road at Maryvale Drive in Cheektowaga, NY.
