John A Penzotti Sr., age 85, died peacefully in his home in Trumbull, on Wednesday May 9, 2012. Former resident of Bridgeport and Stratford John was an avid golfer and member of Brooklawn CC in Fairfield. He graduated with a BA and an MBA from Niagara University and continued further studies at State University of Buffalo. John went on to become a Senior Executive at Perkin Elmer where he led the project for Nasa's Hubbell Space Telescope. He also worked at Bell Aerosystems, Sierra Research and United Technologies. In his later retirement years, his love of golf brought him to Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull, where he worked as a starter and a ranger for roughly 12 years. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria Scialfo Penzotti and also by his second wife Kathryn Capozzi Penzotti, his parents Mariano and Josephine Milicia Pinizzotto, 8 brothers and sisters from the Buffalo- Niagara Falls area, and most recently by his son John A Penzotti Jr. who passed away on Monday May 7th. He is survived by his children; daughter Paula Penzotti-Rubano and husband Matthew of Trumbull, with whom he spent his final years, daughter Carla Wenrich and husband Craig of New Rochelle, NY, and Gina Penzotti of Sarasota FL., three step-children and their children Erin Macaluso and husband Matthew, grandchildren Lucca and Benjamin all of Tolland, step son David Capozzi and wife Carissa of Groton, step son Daniel Capozzi and wife Rose, granddaughter Ella all of Burlington, and a brother Rick Penzotti and wife Pearl of Lewiston, NY. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Harlem Road at Maryvale Drive in Cheektowaga, NY.
