John E. Toussaint, age 93, beloved husband of the late May Burkhart Toussaint, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011, at the Jewish Home for the Elderly. John was born in Ansonia, son of the late Theophile and Katherine Dardis Toussaint and was a Trumbull resident for over 59 years before moving to the Jewish Home. He retired after 40 years of service as a supervisor of the mill shop for the Bridgeport Brass Company. John was a devoted communicant of St. Theresa Parish. He was very artistic and enjoyed painting. Survivors include: three loving daughters, Sr. Monica Toussaint, O. Carm., of Wilkes – Barre, PA, Mary Lou Toussaint, of Concord, MA and Lynn Homberg and husband, Peter, of Roxbury, CT four grandchildren, Ruth Homberg and husband Peter Lennox-King , Emma Homberg, Pam Buzzeo and husband, Mike, Doug Homberg, four great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. John was predeceased by two sisters, Mildred Toussaint and Marion Burlinson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull followed by a11:00 a.m Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa Church. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
