Joseph Carmen Bellavita, age 70 of Bridgeport beloved son of Enes D'Alesio Bellavita and the late Otto Bellavita, passed away Friday September 7, 2012 at the West Haven Veteran's Hospital. Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and worked in construction and private security. An avid motorcyclist, he was a member of the Retread XL cycle club and the Bridgeport Elks Lodge # 36. In addition to his loving mother, Joe is survived by his loving brothers and sisters; Raymond Bellavita and wife Beverly of Bridgeport, Sara Gardner and husband Warren of Milford, John P. Bellavita of Milford and Rose Mary Healy and husband Kevin of Trumbull, two aunts, Irma Meerbach and Patricia Bellavita, both of Florida, several nieces, nephews, cousins and grand nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday 4:00 – 8:00 pm in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street & Gorham Place, Trumbull, with a prayer service at 4:30pm followed by the Elks Lodge Ritual.
