Joseph A. Grosso Jr., age 90, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Rose Camerato Grosso, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012, at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Joseph was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Joseph A. Sr. and Margaret Tuzzola Grosso.He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1940 and the Bridgeport Engineering Institute. He served two years with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater and retired after 25 years with Bridgeport Metal Goods, where he was tool room foreman and tool and machine designer. After retirement Joseph and Rose traveled extensively throughout the world. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children, his son, Ronald F. Grosso and wife Margherita of Trumbull and his daughter, Elaine Eye and husband John of Beacon Falls, four grandchildren, Lisa DeFelice and husband Thomas of Trumbull, Stephen Grosso and wife Tamara of Monroe, Jennifer Eye and Michael Eye, both of Beacon Falls, ten great grandchildren, Rocco, Anthony, Irene, Giuliana, Lia, Thomas and Joseph DeFelice, Isabella and Olivia Grosso and Tanner Wilbe; also several nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 11:00 am. in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, with the Rev. Alfonso Picone, officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call Thursday morning after 10:00 am.
