Joseph A. LaGaipa, age 89 of Milford, beloved husband of the late Margaret E. Genaro LaGaipa, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. Joseph was born Bridgeport son of the late Alphonso and Lucy Spinelli LaGaipa and was a longtime resident before moving Milford in 1990. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a radioman on the B-29 and B-17 planes and was the retired owner with his late wife of Heritage Mantle Inc. Survivors include his two brothers Julius LaGaipa of Huntington and Carmen LaGaipa of Milford and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Frank LaGaipa and a sister Rose Ciambriello. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:15a.m., from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00a.m., in St. Theresa Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8p.m. in the funeral home.
