Josephine Dooling Casey, R.N., age 84, peacefully entered into eternal life on Saturday September 6, 2008 surrounded by her family. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Josephine was the daughter of Dennis and Anne (O'Donnell) Dooling and lived most of her life in Bridgeport and in more recent years in Trumbull and Milford. Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bridgeport Police Lieutenant Edward Patrick Casey. They were married for fifty-five years. Josephine is survived by her children Edward P. Casey, Jr. and his wife Laura of Chelmsford, MA, Kevin J. Casey and his wife Margaret of San Antonio, TX, Joan Casey Degnan and her husband Edward of Milford, Brian M. Casey and his wife Elizabeth of Trumbull, Michael D. Casey and his wife Deborah of Fayetteville, GA, and fifteen grandchildren, Edward P. Casey III, Maryellen Casey, Caroline A. Casey, Kathleen A. Casey, Kevin J. Casey Jr., Sean C. Degnan, Erin C. Degnan, Meghan E. Casey, Catherine A. Casey, Michael D. Casey Jr., Colin P. Casey, Patrick J. Casey, Julia A. Casey, Amelia A. Casey and Joseph E. Casey, her sister Anne Murray of Austin, TX, her brother Dennis M. Dooling of Bridgeport, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Josephine was predeceased by her sister Patricia Fenton and her brother Thomas Dooling. Josephine was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School Class of 1942 and Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1945 and a member of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. Josephine was our much beloved Mom whom we honored, cherished and loved. Hers was a life a love, devotion and faith. She will live forever in our memories and in our broken hearts. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:15 a.m. from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds. Friends may call Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home.
