Obituary

Kevin Paul Morris of Stamford, Connecticut passed away on February 16, 2024 at the age of 67.  Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 11, 1956, Kevin was the second child of parents Joseph and Maureen Lawn Morris. The oldest son of a pack of six children, Kevin was raised in Hicksville, NY, Roxbury, NY and Greenwich, CT. Full of fun, energy and schemes, he organized many football, baseball and running-bases games on the side lawn, played baseball for both Our Lady of Mercy and the Roxbury team, and stealthily lit plenty of summer-evening bonfires with siblings and friends on the beach in Roxbury. Softball, fishing and card-playing were lifelong hobbies, and Kevin was a loyal and dedicated Mets and Giants fan. He was also an avid reader of history and literature. Graduating Greenwich High in 1974, Kevin attended St. Bonaventure University and received an Associates' Degree from Norwalk Community College.  Quick humored and possessing a wonderful sense of the ridiculous, Kevin had an Irishman's wit and charm.

Kevin is survived by a family grateful for the gift of his presence these many years, including his children and former wife, Joseph, Maureen and Jackie, his siblings Jeanne Morris Conlin, Kathleen Morris Capriccio (Tony), Peggy Morris McMahon, Patricia Morris and Brian Morris (Sarah), niece and nephews Ian and Kyle Conlin, and Sean, Ryan and Nolan Morris.  He also leaves behind many Morris, Lawn and Darling aunts, uncles and cousins who love him.

Kevin's two children Joe and Maureen were the light of his soul. Their intelligence, great senses of humor, bright and optimistic personalities and love of family have always been sources of deep joy, both for their parents and their extended family.

Gone too soon, his family and friends are comforted knowing that there are many eager souls in Heaven ready to welcome him home: his loving parents Joseph and Maureen Morris, his sister Mary, his grandparents Jack and Beatrice Lawn and Joseph and Annette Morris, his uncles Mike Darling and Frank Morris, his brothers-in-law Tom Conlin and Dermot McMahon, his cousin Kevin Lawn, and many beloved aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2nd at 10:30 at St. Gabriel Church in Milford, CT.  In lieu of flowers, Kevin's children ask for donations to the American Stroke Foundation (americanstroke.org).
