Laurie E. Cooper age 52 of Trumbull and Fairfield died Friday February 18, 2011 at Connecticut Health of Southport. Born in Bridgeport she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry T. She radiated love and her sunny disposition could always be counted on to brighten up your day. She loved music, dancing, coffee, anything pink, and most of all, celebrating with friends and family. After her Dad's death in 1961, Laurie's loving Mom, Betty, always made sure she was exposed to any and all opportunities that were available. Laurie was a 20+ year resident of Broadhurst Manor, a Kennedy Center group home in Fairfield having moved in when it opened. Many friends, family, Kennedy Center employees and volunteers helped make Laurie's life joyful. She is survived by her brother, John Cooper and his wife Barbara of Trumbull; two nieces Trish Weller and her husband Devin of Springfield,Virginia and Betsy Cooper of Trumbull,; one nephew, Jeff Cooper of Trumbull; and one great-niece, Kaira Weller of Springfield, Virginia. The Cooper family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the loving staffs of Broadhurst Manor, Project Focus and Faust Hall, who were truly a second family to Laurie, and to the compassionate, patient caregivers at Connecticut Health of Southport, who went above and beyond to make Laurie comfortable. A special thanks to Barbara Brosnan of Easton, who always visited her during her long hospitalization. She was a truly loyal friend to Laurie.
