LaVerne D. Garvin Rich, age 92, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 surrounded by loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Rich. LaVerne was born in New Castle, PA, daughter of Robert and LaVerne Peyser Garvin. She was a graduate of Bassick High School and held a full time position until she was 80, as manager of temporary personnel placement with Office Services, Trumbull. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son John D. Rich. Survivors include her devoted son, Joseph R. Rich and wife Patricia of Shelton, two cherished grandsons, Joseph P. Rich and wife Amber and Myles S. Rich and wife Adrienne, five great grandchildren, Kaylie, Riley, Lily, Joey Lynn and Amelia; also several nieces and a nephew. The family would like to thank the V.N.S. of Oxford for the compassionate care shown to LaVerne. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
