Leonara (Nodie) Berger Clancy of Shelton died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, August 2, 2009 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.  Born Leonara Hawley Berger on December 9th, 1930 to parents Leonard and Vivian Berger of Trumbull, Nodie was a Trumbull resident for most of her life.  She was a graduate of Bassick High School and Housatonic Community College. Nodie loved music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed sports as a girl and as an adult played golf locally and in Florida with friends.  Nodie was active in the community with both the YWCA of Bridgeport and the Saint Vincent's Medical Center Auxiliary.  She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph E. Clancy and children Beth, Eileen, Elaine, Steve, and granddaughter Kelsey.  Nodie was the loving sister to siblings and in-laws, Elaine Mileski, Leonard and Lorna Berger, Allan and Sue Berger, Lois and Ed Walsh and Jane Hultgren and the late George Hultgren.  She is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and two great-great nieces all of whom Nodie loved dearly. Her surviving friends include many area residents of the "Old Gang" who continued to make her life full and happy until her passing. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 13, 2009 at 10:00am in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Huntington with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may greet her family Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm in the Redgate Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
