Lillian Catherine Lanchak, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Maefair Health Care Center in Trumbull. Her family was with her at the time of her passing. She spent the last several years of her life living in Trumbull with her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Robert Mori. She was a kind, giving and thoughtful person, always ready for a good card game with her granddaughters or making her famous Harvey Walbanger Cake for a friend. She was also very proud of her service during WWII as a Navy Wave. In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by her cherished granddaughters; Megan Hannan and her husband John Gyor of Fairfield, Erin Palmer and her husband Stephen Palmer of Wallingford, VT and Kyle Hannan and her fiancée Jason Black of Darien. Lillian also leaves her former husband, Walter Lanchak, who recently became her new, best friend. Sadly, Lillian will not hold her first great-grandchild, Baby Palmer, who will be born in mid-July. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 9, 2011, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull. Burial with full military honors will be private. Lillian's request was that there be no calling hours. The family would like to thank the staff of Maefair Health Care Center and Bridgeport Hospital for their dedication and kind support of Lillian during these past several months. They would also like to thank the children of St. Catherine of Siena School for the wonderful cards they made. A very special, heartfelt thank you is extended by the family to Lillian's dear friends of the Friendship Club of St. Catherine of Siena. Lastly, a special thank you to Ann and Thomas Musto for their kindness and caring. Contributions can be made to the charity of your choosing. Lillian especially liked to support the Veterans and many of the animal charities. Arrangements by the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
