Bostick
Jul 12, 1941 — Aug 6, 2026
Bridgeport, CT
Linda Beth Bostick (née Bennett), 85, long-time resident of Bridgeport, Connecticut passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, in Wilton, CT. Born on July 12, 1941, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, Linda lived a life filled with love, creativity, and dedication to her family and community.
Linda pursued her education with passion and determination. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Speech from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. Later, she obtained her Certification in Speech Therapy from California State University. While in California Linda put her skills to work as a volunteer helping children with their speech therapy needs.
Linda’s life was enriched by her many interests and talents. She had a deep love for gardening and cooking finding joy and peace among the plants she nurtured and the meals she prepared. A gifted poet, Linda expressed herself beautifully through words, capturing moments of life with grace and insight. Her love for live theater was evident both on stage as a cast member and off stage as an enthusiastic audience member.
Those who knew Linda will remember her as smart and witty, with a playful sense of humor. Her warmth and creativity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her four children: daughter Beth Harris Rhame and husband Christopher Wright of Southport, CT; daughter Leigh Harris Mabee and husband Michael Mabee of Leland, NC; son Daniel Bennett Harris and wife Joann Harris of Weston, CT; and son Theodore Adam Harris and wife Caroline Harris of Cloverdale, CA. She also leaves behind her first husband Norman Harris of Bronx, NY, as well as eight beloved grandchildren: Holly Rhame, Benjamin Mabee, Caroline Rhame, Matthew Mabee, Megan Mabee, Alyson Harris, Jacob Mabee, and Michael Harris; and eight cherished great-grandchildren: Julia Mabee, David Mabee, Gideon Mabee, Caleb Mabee, Susannah Mabee, Noah Mabee and grandsons Danny & Johnny. Her ninth great-grandchild is due in October.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Robert and Maxine Bennett; brother Robert Bennett Jr.; sisters Flo Ann Rice, Sue Bowlin, Sara Clark; and her cherished aunt Helena Bennett.
Linda’s legacy is one of love—love for her family, for good food, for the arts, and for nature’s beauty. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
A private family memorial service is planned for August 21st to celebrate Linda’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your favorite local botanical garden or performing arts center.
