Margaret M. (Peg) Curran Hennessey, age 73 of Bridgeport, beloved wife of 50 years to Robert E. Hennessey, died Saturday, August 22, 2009, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Patrick and Nora Murphy Curran, she was a lifelong area resident. Peg formerly worked for Singer Manufacturing and retired as a dietary aide with St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was a crossing guard for Read School, Bridgeport for 18 years, a lifetime member of the East End Yacht Club Auxiliary, and for 15 years she bowled with the "Sandwiches for Supper League". Peg was also very active with the Special Olympics with her beloved late daughter Margaret (Peggy) Mary Hennessey. In addition to her beloved husband Robert, survivors include her devoted children, Kevin R. (Christina) Hennessey of West Haven, Noreen (Edward) D'Onofrio of North Haven, Maura (Kevin) Charney of Bridgeport, and Sheila (Charles) Moore of Orange, a sister, Patricia (John) Dooley of Huntington, grandchildren, Beth (Arnaldo) Torres, Melissa Davis, Sean Charney, Bridget D'Onofrio, Charlie Moore,  Emily and Lisa Hennessey, great grandchildren, Brandie D'Onofrio, Vincent Mas, Alexander Torres, John III, Chyanne, and Elijah Buchina, and Trinity Davis, a sister-in-law Ann Curran, nieces and nephews,  Kristen Curran, Patrick and Michael (Jane) Dooley, Brian (Terry) Hennessey, Patrick (Jackie) Hennessey, Nancy (Joseph) Aponte, and Susan (Arif) Akram. In addition to her daughter Peggy she is predeceased by a brother John Curran. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:00am from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at 10:00am in St. Patrick Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
