Maria Sendra Ruiz, age 95 of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Fernando Ruiz. Born in Pego, Spain she was the daughter of the late Hilario and Josefa Sendra and has been a Bridgeport resident for the past 66 years. Mrs. Ruiz worked for General Electric and Valves Incorporated. She loved to garden and was an excellent cook especially Spanish food. She travelled frequently to Spain and was an active volunteer at St. Andrew Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all. Survivors include her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Jacqueline Yanosy Ruiz of Trumbull, loving granddaughters Kristin Ruiz of Union City, New Jersey and Katelyn Ruiz of Washington, DC. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30am meeting directly at St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be private at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no calling hours.
