Obituary

Marian Rinehart Penn, age 91, of Easton, died Thursday, January 12, 2009. Mrs. Penn, widow of William L. Penn, was born in Sharon, PA, to William W. and Carol Gregory Rinehart, and lived in Cleveland, OH, Beaver, Pa, Caldwell, NJ, and has been an Easton resident since 1957. She attended Westminster College, New Wilmington PA, was a graduate of Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH, in 1939 and of Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, with a Masters degree in Library Science, in 1940. She was a librarian at DePauw University, Greencastle, IN, prior to her marriage, and at the University of Bridgeport, for 21 years prior to her retirement in 1985. Survivors include her beloved son, Douglas L. Penn of Eugene, OR, her brother-in-law Frank Penn and wife June Darien, and several loved nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband and a brother, William W. Rinehart, Jr. and wife Joan. She enjoyed reading, writing, painting, photography, genealogy, gardening, traveling, and most of all, her many true and dear friends. Funeral services and interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
