Marion R. O'Brien, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, surrounded by her beloved family. Marion was born in Bridgeport, December 30, 1929, daughter of the late Howard J. and Marguerite F. Howell O'Brien. She was a graduate of Bassick High School and attended the Butler Business School. Marion worked at the Bridgeport Hydraulic Company for 45 years, most of that time as the Supervisor of Customer Service and was also a group leader for Junior Achievement. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church for 62 years and had a special love for the Blessed Mother and Rosary. Marion was an avid fan of the UCONN Girls Basketball team and loved being a hostess for her family, especially on holidays. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy McCall. Survivors include her devoted sister, Marguerite (Peggy) A. O'Brien of Fairfield, although no children she was a second mother to niece, Mary Lou Evans of Milford, nephews, Tucker McCall and wife Marie of Bradford, MA and Brian McCall and wife Susan of Fairfield, great nieces and nephews, Brian Evans and wife Julia, Jack McCall, Tim McCall, Jennifer Carr, Kirsten Carr, Katherine McCall, Tim McCall. She also leaves cousins, Duane Howell and wife Margaret of Trumbull and Sandra Howell of New York. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 9:30a.m., meeting directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
