IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha Nancy
Mastrone
March 25, 1942 – March 25, 2022
Martha Nancy Martire Mastrone, age 80 of Monroe, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Lord Chamberlain in Stratford, of natural causes. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Mastrone.
As a girl she discovered she had a knack for singing and was very successful in amateur talent competitions popular on the radio at the time. But she soon met Frank Mastrone, the man of her dreams. They moved from Bridgeport to the "wilderness of 1960's Monroe." She started married life as a homemaker while raising her family, and she supported and helped raise money for all the little league, peewee football, dance companies and theatre organizations her family was involved in. She also created decades of holiday parties and memories for her entire family, especially Christmas Eve, featuring her homemade Italian cookies as delicious as any bakery in Naples.
When her children started school, she got a position cooking in the Monroe public school cafeterias, changing the face of Pizza Fridays forever! She soon got a full-time job to help support her family at Vitramon, Inc. where she worked for over 25 years.
One of her finest virtues was how she supported her husband in all his endeavors, especially his work in theatre, where she never missed one of his performances.
Martha is survived by her son Frank Mastrone Jr and his wife Ramona Spinelli, of Stamford; daughter Kathryn Mastrone Hardy and her husband David Hardy of Shelton; her triplet granddaughters, Livia, Ava, and Franki Spinelli Mastrone; sisters and brothers, Rose Artymousky, Vincent, Joseph, and Richard Martire, Linda Lapera, and Anthony Martire, sisters and brothers-in law, and many, many nieces and nephews. The children also wish to say thank you to Patrice Nichols, Martha's long-time caregiver, for her love and devotion to their mom.
