Mary Jane "Pixie" Carson, 80, of Seymour, CT, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters: Kimberly Slavin (husband James Slavin III) of Canton, CT; Caryn Carson (husband Louis Weisenbacher IV) of Beacon Falls, CT; and Marjorie Mason (husband Brennan Lunin) of Beacon Falls, CT. She was the cherished only child of Robert A. Earley and Catherine L. Sullivan of Glastonbury, CT.

Born on the Fourth of July, Pixie always believed the fireworks were in celebration of her birthday. This joyful belief set the tone for the way she lived her life—like a firework: full speed ahead, vibrant, unfiltered, and always illuminating any room with her unforgettable stories. She loved deeply, gave generously, stood fiercely independent, and lived life entirely on her own terms. A dear friend captured her perfectly: "Pixie led a big life—colorful, dramatic, adventurous, fun, yet traditional for her daughters, and caring to friends."

Pixie grew up in Glastonbury, CT, where she attended Glastonbury High School and proudly marched as a majorette. She went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut, then moved to New York City to pursue modeling. Her path led her to film production work as a script supervisor, where she met and married Captain Steve Carson. Together, they embarked on yachting adventures throughout the Caribbean, with Pixie cooking and crewing along the way.

When her children were born in the 1970s, she shifted to land-based adventures—traveling with The Coleman Brothers Carnival, running a wax museum and fascination arcade on the Wildwood, NJ boardwalk, and operating a beer garden at La Feria in Puerto Rico. In the late 1980s she moved to Orlando, FL, where, at the opening of Disney/MGM Studios, she founded a craft services company for television productions. Her company catered shows such as Wheel of Fortune, MTV Spring Break, Superboy, Let's Make a Deal, and The Mickey Mouse Club. She returned to Connecticut in the late 1990s to be closer to her children.

In the 2000s, Pixie devoted herself to her grandchildren—Alex Weisenbacher, James Slavin IV, Fiona Mason, and Peter Slavin—and was predeceased by her beloved granddaughter Heidi Slavin. She was their biggest fan, cheering the loudest at swim meets, hockey games, band concerts, school plays, cheer competitions, and every school event she could attend.

A gifted and passionate crafter, Pixie created holiday trees and wreaths, silk floral arrangements, and seasonal décor. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Woodbridge, CT, where she loved contributing to the annual Christmas Bazaar and Craft Fair.
