Mary Elizabeth O'Shea Smeragulio, age 79 died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Shelton Lakes. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew Smeragulio. Born in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Elizabeth Johnson O'Shea. She worked as a building manager, enjoyed taxiing her grandchildren wherever they needed to go, and would always help those in need and give them a place to stay.  Mary was proud of her family's dedication and years of service in the New York Police Department dating back to 1932. Survivors include her six children and 18 grandchildren; daughter, Virginia Kulesa and her husband Ronald, and their children, Cristopher and his wife Barbara,  and Cynthia and her husband Marc, daughter, Donna Hagh and her husband Mohsen, and their children, Babak and Roya, daughter, Joanne White and her husband Michael, and their children, Ryan, Lisa and her husband Peter, Daniel, and Jonathan, son, Andrew Smeragulio and his children, Andrew, Vincent, Nicholas, and Dyana, and their mother, Susan Bradley, and son, James Smeragulio, and his children, Kristina and her mother Luann Gurecki, and James and Mallory, daughter Katie Romeo and her husband, Carlo, and their children, Carlo Jr., Emma and Andrew, five great grandchildren, Riley, Dylan, Emmett, Camora, and Silas, brother John O'Shea, sister Patricia McGrath, and her beloved friend and special caregiver for 10 years, Angela Parente. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Ryan White. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00am meeting directly in Holy Family Church, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.
