Almost one year ago, on December 4th 2022 my father, Melvin Skigen, finished his time on this earth to begin a new existence. We want to invite you to join our family at a graveside service to remember him, to offer reflections (all are welcome to speak) and to honor his request that his remains be placed in the grave next to the love of his life, my mother, Phyllis. My father was a Veteran, hence, retired Army Veterans will be there to offer a 21 gun salute in his honor. The service will be held on Saturday, December 2nd 2023 at 11am at Long Ridge Union Cemetery in Stamford, CT.

Melvin Skigen, age 87 of Monroe passed away Saturday, December 4, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Virginia Phyllis Kallman Skigen "The Love of His Life". Born in Stamford, Melvin was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired computer operations manager for ADP. He will be remembered for his love of family and his strong Christian Faith. He is survived by his loving daughter, Lisa Carpenter and her husband Dan, grandsons, Joshua, Noah, Jonah and Zachary Santiana, step grandchildren, Guthrie, Aria and Nell Carpenter, his sister Ruth Kunin, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Stanley Skigen and sister, Arlene Greene.
