Michael E. (Uncle Mike) Digularme, age 90, of Trumbull, entered eternal rest, Monday, August 6, 2007, at the Veteran's Hospital, West Haven, with his loving family by his side. Michael was the son of the late Angelo and Lucy Alterio Digularme and lived most of his life in Bridgeport. He resided in Trumbull with his devoted niece Deborah Johnson and her husband Robert the last five years. Michael attended Central High School and graduated from Bassick High School at the age of 16 through the accelerated student program. He was a veteran of World War II, rising to the rank of sergeant serving over three years, as a communications specialist in the Army Air Corp, both in North Africa and Italy. Michael was employed by Dresser Industries for 40 years, where he worked as a foreman. He as an active member of the Dresser Retiree's Club, Quarter Century Club, AARP and for many years was active at St. Margaret's Shrine Roman Catholic Church as an usher. Michael always had a kind and generous heart and donated regularly to charitable causes. He loved his family dearly and also his pet cat "Rambo". In recent years Michael enjoyed trips with his family to the casino despite his physical ailments. He always had a good sense of humor and a cheerful smile. Michael will be missed by all who knew him. We wish to thank the doctors and nurses at the Veteran's Hospital who took such good care of him the last five years. We also would like to acknowledge the V.N.A. and especially Brenda Bucknor, Laurie Marinelli, Elise Campbell and Dan Martowski for all their loving help and support, not only to Michael, but also to his family. A special thank you to Fr. Artuso Graziosa for his visit to Michael every month. In addition to his beloved niece Deborah and her husband Robert, he is survived by a loving brother and sister, Louis Digularme of Trumbull and Rose Bernardo of Huntington, a niece Joan Ann Mainiero of Trumbull, great niece Lisa Murphy and her husband Vincent of Florida and great great nephew and niece, Ryan and Kelley Murphy. He was predeceased by three sisters, Gemma Digularme, Jennie Colonnese and Faye Tickey. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 10:15 a.m. from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Shrine, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow with full military honors in St. Michael's Garden Mausoleum. Friends may call Friday morning after 9:00 a.m.
