Michael C. Owens, age 50 of Sarasota FL, previously of the Lordship section of Stratford died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Born in Bridgeport on December 24, 1959 he was the son of the late Dr. Andrew and Moreen Mahoney Owens. He is survived by his wife Janine and cherished daughters Courtney and Shannon Owens. He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep and Fairfield University. He began his career in banking at City Trust Bank, Bridgeport where he became a Vice President.  He relocated to Sarasota and was a Vice President with Smith-Barney.  He was currently an investment banker with John Hancock.  An avid fisherman, his love of the sea led him to volunteer at the Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota.  Additional survivors include his five sisters and two brothers and spouses; Moreen and Stephen Donahue of Trumbull, Marilyn and Eugene Nolan of Atlanta, GA, Eleanor and Richard Garvey of Milford, Meredith and Michael Hurley of Fairport, NY, Eileen and Ryan Johnson of Huntington, Thomas Owens of Stratford and Jupiter, FL, and Andrew and Mary Owens of Hobe Sound, FL.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Peace Church, Stratford Road, Stratford.  Interment will be private.  Friends may greet his family on Thursday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
