Michael V. Rosso, age 57, of Huntington, CT, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in Bridgeport he was the son of the late Russell and Anna Rosso. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lynn Rosso, two daughters, Michelle and her husband T.Adam Blum of Branchburg, NJ, and Jennifer Rosso of Bridgeport, two grandchildren Zoe Alexis and Owen Michael Blum and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He earned his undergraduate degree in Nebraska and his MBA from University of New Haven. He started his career in banking in 1972 at Connecticut National Bank in Bridgeport, he worked many years in Ansonia at Great Country Bank before returning to Bridgeport with People's Bank where he was Vice President-Sales & Marketing for the Commercial Banking Division. Throughout his banking career Mike played an active role in the community. He served on the boards of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Valley Regional Business Council, the Shelton /Derby Boys & Girls Club, the Valley United Way, and the Shelton Economic Development Corporation. He was committed to the business and cultural development of the City of Bridgeport through professional and volunteer service. He was chairman of the Board of the Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation; served on the Board of the Downtown Cabaret Theater-co-chairing their Benefit Golf Tournament for 10 years, served on the Executive Committee of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council, was a dedicated member of the Cardinal Shehan Center Board as well as a Past President. He was an avid golfer, anyone who knew him was aware he had an unwavering love of the game. He was a past President of Brownson Country Club and most recently a member of Race Brook Country Club. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am directly in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Huntington, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, St. Monica's Mausoleum, Trumbull.
