Mildred D. Gerstenmaier Schwartz, age 92, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late George M. Schwartz, passed away Monday, April 19, 2010. Mildred was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late William and Lydia Seifert Gerstenmaier. She retired from the family business, Bridgeport Cutter Salvage Co., Inc. Mildred was a life member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies' Aid Group at the church. Survivors included her beloved children, son, Robert G. Schwartz and wife Maribeth of Branford and daughter, Barbara Schneider and husband Robert of Trumbull, five cherished grandchildren, Emily B. Lisy and husband Matthew, Robert G. Schwartz Jr. and wife Megan, Brandon R. Schneider and wife Jennifer, Lauren B. Schneider and Claire E. Schwartz; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Burandt and Gladys Schmidt. Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 11:00 am. meeting directly at Zion Lutheran Church, 612 Grand Street, Bridgeport, with the Rev. Jimmy Coffey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday (TODAY) 4:00 – 8:00 pm in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
