"Mimi" (Mildred) I. Sorrentino, of Trumbull passed away, Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Maefair Health Care Center, after a courageous battle with cancer. The widow of Michael Sorrentino, Mimi was the daughter of the late David and Ellen Smedberg Solaz. She was born and raised in Bridgeport and resided in Stratford for many years before moving to Trumbull. Mimi had boundless energy and thoroughly enjoyed life. After retiring from Dictaphone Corp. (Pitney Bowes) she continued to travel, do volunteering, and was an active member of United Congregational Church, Bridgeport, of which she was a life-long member. Survivors include dear cousins, John Kunkel and family of Montana and Arizona, Dorothy Solazzi of Trumbull, Karen Solazzi of Stratford, sister-in-law Clara Juliano of Stratford, nieces and nephews James and Nancy Juliano of Newtown, Mark Juliano and daughter Chelsea of Stratford, Theresa Dineen of Stratford. Mimi will also be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews and her close friends and caregivers, Rev. Sarah, Anne, Pam, Janie, Irene, Marge, Lois, Barbara, Marilyn, MaryLou and Don, who gave her loving support during her illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 9:00 a.m. from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in the United Congregational Church, with the Rev. Sarah J. Verasco Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Thursday (TODAY) from 3pm to 7pm in the funeral home.
