Norman Minott Parker, born. Aug. 13, 1919 in Bridgeport, Ct , 2nd son of Minott C Parker and Elizabeth Kuslick Parker of Fairfield, Connecticut. He is predeceased by his mother Elizabeth, father Minott, brother Russell, sister Lois Cummings, his grandson Sean Friese and his wife of 47 years Ruth Curry Parker. He is survived by his daughter Sharon Friese of Clearwater, Fl., son Loren and daughter in law Janet Parker of La Grange, Tx and grandson Christopher Friese of Boston, Mass. In life he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Norman graduated from Fairfield High School in 1936. He worked in manufacturing for the Handy & Harmon Company and Bridgeport Fabrics and in sales of building materials for Asbestos Distributors and Stevenson Lumber all of southern Connecticut. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and a Shriner. He was Past Master of Fidelity Masonic Lodge, Fairfield, Ct and Past Patron Order of the Eastern Star, Fairfield. He was a member and Chairman of Golf at Hillandale Country Club, Trumbull, the Harry B. Brownson Country Club and the Cove Cay Country Club, Clearwater, FL. Norman lived in Clearwater, FL after retirement until he moved to La Grange in 2005. He was very interested in music and played with the American Legion Band and later with the Shriners Band. He enjoyed sports especially fishing and golf. Norman died quietly on Sunday, August 26th after a long illness. Friends are invited to greet his family on Thursday, October 25, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will be held Friday at 10:00am directly at Long Hill Burial Grounds, Middlebrook Avenue, Trumbull with Pastor Edward F. Duffy of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield officiating.
