Patricia Ann Hawman Micklos passed away suddenly in her Beacon Falls home on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Pat was born in Bridgeport, as the third child of George & Helen (Dunne) Hawman of Westport. She graduated from Laurelton Hall and Albertus Magnus College of New Haven, where she was the Class President of 1959. She enjoyed a distinguished career teaching high school English and managing numerous yearbook staffs starting at Central High School in Bridgeport. After raising a family, she continued teaching at Joseph Foran and Jonathan Law high schools in Milford. She was a founding member of the Trumbull Library Association, membership chairperson of the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Association, Inc., board member of the Greater Bridgeport Retired Teachers Fund, Inc., and Albertus Magnus College 50th Reunion Committee Chairperson. Pat is survived by her husband of 49 years, Edward F. Micklos, a sister, Audrey Batt, of Greenville, SC, four children including Jonathan and spouse Simone, of Keene, NH, Susan and spouse John, of Franklin, MA, Jeffrey and spouse Monica, of Washington, D.C., Gregg of Silver Spring, MD, and seven grandchildren; Cara, Jessica, Samantha, Shawn, Zachary, Katherine and Emily. Pat and Ed spent over 40 years in Trumbull, where she raised the family and participated in church, school and community activities. In 2007, she retired to community living at Pond Spring Village in Beacon Falls, and enjoyed spending the winter months in Fort Lauderdale, FL. In her leisure time, Pat enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and board and card games player. She was a lifelong Yankees baseball fan and greatly enjoyed the company of her grandchildren, traveling often to participate in their activities. Funeral services will be held, Friday, June 18, 2010, at 10:30am, meeting directly in St. Michael's Church, 25 Maple Avenue, Beacon Falls, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call Thursday, from 4 to 8pm in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
