Peter Sedelnik, Jr. beloved husband of Carol A. Ritchie Sedelnik a long time Shelton resident before moving to Stratford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital. Peter was born in Bridgeport son of the late Peter and Matilda Stary Sedelnik. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended the University of Bridgeport. His career in sales began with REM Chemical where he was director of sales, a position that took him worldwide. In later years, he had several sales positions with Norwalk Powdered Metals, Hatch and Bailey, and recently Madison Supply Company. His interests included kayaking, lying on the beach and biking. Above all Peter loved to cook and dine out. In addition to his beloved wife and best friend, he leaves his loving children, Melissa Penry of Bradenton, FL, Jennifer Kalakay Feinleib of Westport, Christopher (Kyleigh) Kalakay of Monroe and Jessica (Michael Hammill) Kalakay of Milford, a brother Gary (Jeanne) Sedelnik of Trumbull, seven cherished grandchildren, Ethan and David Penry, Cole and Elle Feinleib, Sophie and Brooke Kalakay and Harley Hammill, nephew Philip Sedelnik and niece Sarah (Geoffrey) Kenyon and a great niece Jocelyn Kenyon. Services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and 4 Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family Thursday morning 10:00 a.m. until service time.
