Richard L. Nathan Sr., age 87, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Mary Bonish Nathan, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Mr. Nathan was the son of the late Louis and Clara Ritner Nathan and had been a lifelong Bridgeport resident. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army Air Corp. and was a former member of the Stratford V.F.W. Mr. Nathan retired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Survivors include his devoted children, two sons, Richard L. Nathan Jr. and Allen E. Nathan and his companion Judy Scott, all of Stratford, and a daughter, Patricia Fitzpatrick and her husband Brian, Sr. of North Weymouth, MA, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Allison Nathan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, at 10:00 am. in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, with the Rev. Dr. Anne W. Coffman, Pastor of Olivet Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 4:00 – 7:00 pm.
