Rita R. Sutay Bernardo, age 78 of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Michael John Bernardo Sr. died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born and raised in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late John Stephen Sutay and Gertrude Jackson Sutay. She is survived by her daughter Janet Rotunda of Trumbull, sons, Michael J. Bernardo Jr. of Milford, Frank G. Bernardo and John R. Bernardo, sisters June Wargo and Alice Grady, all of Trumbull, brothers John Sutay of Bridgeport and George Sutay of Georgia, her grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter Cathy Russell, sisters Marge Kearsley and Trudy Melius, and brother Edward Sutay. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00am from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull at 11:00am in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 4-8pm.
