Robert J. Brown, age 87, passed away on September 8, 2015. Bob aka Dink, was born and lived his entire life in Bridgeport, a lifetime parishioner, and former adult altar server of St. Patrick's Church. Dink is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary, his daughters Teri Brown and Martha Bilski, son in law John Bilski and treasured grandchildren Jack and Tess. He is also survived by nephews Tom, Bob, and Michael Kelly, and much treasured extended family and longtime friends he considered as family. He was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Brown, his twin brother George and cherished daughter Julie. Dink received an associate's degree from the University of Bridgeport and enjoyed a long and happy career at Sikorsky Aircraft. But Bob's real vocation was advocacy for people with disabilities. He was active for many years in the parent organization at the New York Institute for the blind serving for some time as its president and was particularly devoted to his fundraising efforts on behalf of the Kennedy Center. The Kennedy Center Golf Tournament and his foursome, anchored by his godson Rob Mory, where second only to his family. The family thanks the staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center, particularly 10 north and Vitas Healthcare for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Ann Church, 481 Brewster Street, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Msgr. J. James Cuneo. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4p.m. to 8p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
